【摘要】:Samplingfromthevadosezonemaybeanimportantcomponentofsomegroundwatermonitoringstrategies.Itcanprovideinformationregardingcontaminanttransportandattenuationinthevadosezone.Thisinformationcanbeusedformitigatingpotentialproblemspriortodegradationofagroundwaterresource(1).6Thechoiceofappropriatesamplingdevicesforaparticularlocationisdependentonvariouscriteria.SpecificguidelinesfordesigningvadosezonemonitoringprogramshavebeendiscussedbyMorrison(1),Wilson(2),Wilson(3),Everett(4),Wilson(5),Everettetal(6),Wilson(7),Everettetal(8),Everettetal(9),Robbinsetal(10),MerryandPalmer(11),U.S.EPA(12),Ball(13),andWilson(14).Ingeneral,itisprudenttocombinevariousunsaturatedandfreedrainagesamplersintoaprogram,sothatthedifferentflowregimesmaybemonitored.Thisguidedoesnotattempttopresentdetailsofinstallationanduseoftheequipmentdiscussed.However,anefforthasbeenmadetopresentthosereferencesinwhichthespecifictechniquesmaybefound.1.1Thisguidediscussesequipmentandproceduresusedforsamplingpore-liquidfromthevadosezone(unsaturatedzone).Theguideislimitedtoin-situtechniquesanddoesnotincludesoilcorecollectionandextractionmethodsforobtainingsamples.1.2Theterm"pore-liquid"isapplicabletoanyliquidfromaqueouspore-liquidtooil.However,allofthesamplersdescribedinthisguideweredesigned,andareusedtosampleaqueouspore-liquidsonly.Theabilitiesofthesesamplerstocollectotherpore-liquidsmaybequitedifferentthanthosedescribed.1.3Someofthesamplersdescribedinthisguidearenotcurrentlycommerciallyavailable.Thesesamplersarepresentedbecausetheymayhavebeenavailableinthepast,andmaybeencounteredatsiteswithestablishedvadosezonemonitoringprograms.Inaddition,someofthesedesignsareparticularlysuitedtospecificsituations.Ifneeded,thesesamplerscouldbefabricated.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.5Thisguideoffersanorganizedcollectionofinformationoraseriesofoptionsanddoesnotrecommendaspecificcourseofaction.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthisguidemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject'smanyuniqueaspects.Theword"Standard"inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.
