【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsareintendedasaquickandreliableprocedureformeasuringthetitaniumdioxidepigmentcontentofaqueousslurries.Includedwiththepigmentcontentinthepercentsolidsarethevariousnonvolatileadditivesusedinpreparingastableslurry.Becausethealuminumandsilicaoxidetreatmentsonthemorehighlytreatedtitaniumdioxidepigmentsmaychangesomewhatwithprolongeddrying,intheovenmethodthesolidsoftheslurryareconsidereddryafterheatingat105x00B0;Cfor60to65min.ThehightemperatureassociatedwiththeinfraredmoistureanalyzermayalsoeffectachangeinthealuminumandsilicaoxidetreatmentonhighlytreatedTiO2products.Therefore,careinselectionoftimeandtemperaturearecriticaltoobtainaccurateresultswiththeinfraredmethod.Withtheshortdurationoftestassociatedwiththemicrowavedryingsystem,overdryingisnotaconcern.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationoftheweightpercentofsolidsinaqueousslurriesoftitaniumdioxidepigmentsbyeithertheuseofagravity-convectionoven(MethodA),infraredradiationmoistureanalyzer(MethodB),oramicrowavedryingsystem(MethodC).1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisteststandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
